FILMING AND PHOTOGRAPHY AT THE URE MUSEUM OF GREEK ARCHAEOLOGY
Any reproduction of images from the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology’s collection require permission and where applicable a fee. The fee will be dependent on the use of the image. All filming and photography in or of the Ure Museum should be arranged in advance. All forms of requests detailed below must be sent to the Assistant Curator at ure@reading.ac.uk. Please allow up to 10 working days for a response.
Photography by members of public for own use
Members of the public may take photographs of object in the museum for non-commercial use, free of charge. Please no flash photography. For objects with the prefix REDMG, these belong to Reading Museum and are subject to their own terms and conditions, please see https://www.readingmuseum.org.uk/collections/image-enquiries# for more details.
Photography for research purposes
Researchers are welcome to take photographs of objects and archives but we request advance notice. If you require objects to be taken off display or brought out from storage then you will need to contact us with no less than 28 days’ notice. If the images you take are to be published then you will need to apply for further permissions. Filming and photography for scholarly and academic use
Permission for the use of images Ure Museum objects and archives for scholarly use must be sought. The use of images for scholarly publications are normally free of charge but you will need to fill in and return a request form available from museum staff, which allows us to keep a track of collection use. We do ask that copies of publications containing Ure Museum objects are sent to us. Any use of Ure Museum objects must be credited with © Ure Museum, University of Reading. Filming and photography for commercial media
If you plan on using an image or footage from the Ure Museum and/ objects for commercial media you must obtain formal permission. Please note that Rights in perpetuity are not granted. Charges will apply for filming and photography for commercial use.
