Greek Nature activities for Families!
Join us at the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology to celebrate the Council for British Archaeology (CBA) Festival of Archaeology
In these sessions, visitors will explore one of Aesop’s fables, The Mouse and the Lion. Through storytelling, hands‑on craft activities, and object handling, we will discover how the ancient Greeks used animals to reflect human nature and behaviour. Together, we will consider how nature was used to explore human qualities such as kindness, power, and cooperation, and why these ideas are still important today.

Lion Trail – Explore the museum and discover lions on artefacts
Rescue the lion Game – Race to be the first to save the lion from hunters
Lion and Mouse Craft – Create your own mouse bookmark and lion puppet
Special Timed Activities – Wednesday 22nd July 2026
Object Handling Sessions Touch and explore real artefacts from ancient times!
