Wylde, Theresa Victoria
Date: 1870-1949
Born in British Columbia, Theresa Victoria Wylde was close friends with fellow Canadian artists Emily Carr and Sophie Pembleton. She was a member of the Ladies Art Club of Vancouver, later known as the Victoria Sketch Club, where she had a studio and taught classes.
In 1905, Wylde left Canada to attend the Slade School of Art in London. Our research suggests that Wylde’s main artistic focus was portraiture.
The University Art Collection holds one painting by Theresa Victoria Wylde, entitled ‘Miss Mabel Faithfull’.
