Although it is not a formal scheme, since its development in 2015, the University Art Collection has facilitated several artist residencies alongside The MERL and the University of Reading.
We also work collaboratively with University colleagues to create micro-residencies. Creative practitioners gain access to the University Art Collections, specialised curatorial expertise and the opportunity to share their work to diverse audiences.
CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES
DRAWING DIVERSITY
The University of Reading Art Collection in partnership with Reading Museum are seeking an artist-in-residence to use our upcoming exhibition at Reading Museum, Rubens to Sickert: The Study of Drawing, to pose questions around diversity in drawing practices and to produce a new commission for the University of Reading Art Collection, responding to the exhibition.
This residency was made possible with a grant from the Weston Loan Programme with Art Fund.
The deadline for applications to Drawing Diversity has now passed. Check back for more details as this residency progresses.
