Newton, Duncan

Duncan Newton had a career that spanned five decades, including winning the Abbey Scholarship to Rome in 1995. From 1978-1980, Newton was a part-time lecturer at the University of Reading. He received his Bachelors degree in Reading, before leaving to gain a Masters in Fine Art at the University of Newcastle.
His paintings and collages were exhibited in the United Kingdom and aboard, including at the Royal Academy, the British School at Rome, and the Kings Plow Art Centre in Atlanta, USA. At the time of his death in May 2019, he was a tutor at Northumbria University.
The University Art Collection holds one painting by Duncan Newton, entitled ‘Colour Study’.
