Sargood, Corinna

Born in London, Corinna Sargood is a multi-disciplinary artist. A friend and collaborator of Angela Carter, Sargood illustrated some of her books, along with The Second Virago Book of Fairy Tales, which was edited by Carter.
Sargood’s travels to Mexico, where she used to spend several months a year, have had a great influence in her work, which often feature bright colours and folk art elements from Latin America.
Best known for her woodcut illustrations and sculptures, she has also worked as a puppeteer and animator.
The University Art Collection holds three artworks by Corinna Sargood.
