Also known as József Domján.
Born in Hungary, Joseph Domjan studied at the Hungarian Royal Academy of Fine Art. He moved to the USA in the mid 1950s and settled in New Jersey. A prolific printmaker, his work was exhibited in Europe, USA and China, where he was awarded “Master of Colour Woodcuts”, an honour never granted to a non-Chinese artist.
Highly influenced by folklore, he wrote and illustrated Myths, Folk Tales and Historical Figures of Hungary.
The University Art Collection holds three prints by Joseph Domjan.
