Buckley, Stephen

A contemporary painter and printmaker, Stephen Buckley attended the University of Durham, before studying at the University of Reading from 1967-69. In Reading, Buckley began to honing his signature style, presenting his paintings as 3D objects. By drawing upon a range of materials as well as the everyday environment for inspiration, Buckley created his eccentric physical shapes and designs.

Returning in 1994 as the Head of the Department of Fine Art, Buckley contributed a variety of prints to the University of Reading Art Collection. These include six from his ‘Crazy Paving’ series.
