Conversations with a Curator: Katharine Martin
About this event
Join us for our latest season of exciting free online talks, where you’ll get the chance to dive deep into the world of art with our expert curators, conservators and scholars. Discover the stories behind the artworks in the University of Reading Art Collection, learn about the creative process, and pose any questions.
This month we will be joined by Katharine Martin. Katherine is a Curator whose PhD and recent V&A exhibition focuses on the relationship between the painter John Constable and the printmaker David Lucas. In this talk, she will shed light on the University of Reading’s print of The Lock, engraved by Lucas after Constable’s celebrated painting. This talk marks the end of Constable 250 — a major year-long festival and exhibition series running from March 2026 to March 2027. It marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of the famous Suffolk-born landscape painter, John Constable (1776–1837).
Grab a glass of wine or a cup of tea, and don’t miss this unique opportunity to get a closer look at the art world from the comfort of your own home. See you there!
