The University’s museums and collections can support pupils of all ages and abilities to learn through our collections, and present teachers and schools with a range of learning options that complement school curriculums.

Both the Museum of English Rural Life and the Ure Museum work with many different school groups to provide accessible and engaging collections-based learning.

  • For KS2 students, the Ure Museum offers object handling, trails, animations, andmany more  imaginative ways of engaging with the collections. The Ure also supports A Level students interested in Classical Studies, Drama, and Art and Design, through activities including object handling.
  • The MERL works with many different educational groups in using the museum’s collections and resources as a foundation for cross-curricular learning. The museum provides a choice of pre-visit, visit and post-visit resources across a range of themes, which link to many KS1-4 subjects.
