We welcomed the Friends of the University and on a separate occasion the Berks Oxon Camsoc to view material from our collections of Entertainment ephemera.

Assistant Curator, Emma Minns, introduced the session and then led the groups in discussion about the material on display.

The afternoon was very much enjoyed by both groups:

I want to thank you very much for organising the fascinating visit yesterday. I had no real idea beforehand of what the afternoon would entail, but it turned out to contain all sorts of surprises – including the programme of the Bertram Mills Circus that I attended as a small boy in 1951. Memories of that and much else in my life came flooding back, and during the afternoon ‘Ephemera’ became so much more than just a somewhat obscure word!
