Marie Neurath at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair

We were pleased to launch our co-published editions of three Isotype children’s books at the 2026 Bologna Book Fair. The books, newly translated in Italian have been published in collaboration with Italian publishers, Quinto Quarto Edizione. Their launch was very well-received and they are already hitting the shelves in the bookshops.

The first editions of the books are located in the Otto and Marie Neurath Isotype Collection. They have been reproduced with care and expertise by a team including Fraser Muggeridge studio and Prof Paul Luna to retain the authenticity of the originals with improvements to the typography so that it is easier for children to read, and Fiona MacLachlan from KEEP

Sue Walker, who developed the collaboration, said:

This was a fantastic opportunity to build on growing interest in Marie Neurath’s work and to extend the reach of research deriving from a valued University collection. Collaboration with Quinto Quarto means that we are able to extend the reach of the Isotype children’s books in Italy and beyond.

Designing knowledge in Bologna

To accompany the launch of the Italian editions of the children’s books at Bologna we curated and designed an exhibition to showcase Marie Neurath’s work on all the design of all the children’s books. The display based on our 2019 exhibition at House of Illustration was designed by Fraser Muggeridge studio and was located in the amazing L’espirit Nouveau in Bologna.
