Nellie Eales’ offprints
Dr Nellie B. Eales (1889-1989) was a Senior Lecturer in Zoology at Reading and Professor Francis Cole’s colleague. Eales is also the author a two volume catalogue of the Cole Library and the former owner of MS 2087.
Library collection
A collection of 43 items, mainly separata and offprints from scholarly journals, consisting mostly of articles on mollusks written by Dr Eales during her distinguished career as Zoology Lecturer at the University of Reading. Also includes her research on cheese mites, her anatomical studies of the narwhal, the African elephant and other species, and obituaries written for The Proceedings of the Malacological Society. The earliest work in the collection is a collaboration with Prof. Cole published in 1915 and the latest is an account of MS 2087, the precious Book of Hours that Dr Eales gifted to the university library (1984)
