Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre (WSHC)

The Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre is home to the local authority archive service for the county of Wiltshire and Borough of Swindon which aims to collect, preserve and make accessible the written and pictorial heritage of Wiltshire and Swindon reflecting its diverse communities, economy and landscape. Alongside official public records, WSHC holds a vast quantity of records including diaries, letters, books, maps, photographs, oral histories and more that connect Wiltshire with local, national and international events, people and places. These records form a significant source of historical information for all aspects of life in Wiltshire including gardens, gardening and natural history. WSHC is also home to the Rooted Chippenham community garden.
