In our new exhibition, Uprooted, explore the intriguing histories of four trees from around the world through Kew’s archives, objects and artworks.
Uprooted examines our relationship with trees, the beginnings of forest conservation in the nineteenth century, and how this links to Kew’s global conservation work today.
Created by two humanities PhD students currently working in Kew’s Archives – Heather Craddock from Roehampton University and Christina Hourigan from Royal Holloway – this exhibition brings together fascinating items from across Kew’s collections for the first time.
Join us to discover the Indian deodar cedar, the kauri pine from New Zealand, the Jamaican lacebark tree, and St Helena ebony.
