In this exhibition, we explore the use and representation of trees through our collections. We look at how trees are represented in natural history illustration, iconic trees, economic botany, and the exploitation of trees. Rare books, manuscripts, specimens, artefacts, photographs, and original art help to tell the story of our relationship with trees.
This exhibition also complements a one-day conference organised collaboratively between Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and the Linnean Society of London. The conference, Tree Cultures: Words, Woods and Well-Being, will be held on 29 February 2024.
