The University’s Art Collection comprises around a thousand works of painting, drawing, sculpture and graphic art, including many pieces of national and international significance.
As the University’s origins were as a School of Art, the forerunner of today’s progressive, contemporary and innovative art school, it is no surprise that so many fine works have been purchased or donated over the years.
Based at the former St Andrews Hall, alongside the Museum of English Rural Life and the University’s Special Collections, the Art Collections team also work closely with Reading Museum through the Arts Council England-funded Museums Partnership Reading.
