From 12pm-5pm on Saturday 17th May, as part of the University of Reading Community Festival, the Cole Museum of Zoology will once again be opening its doors to welcome everyone to explore All Things Natural History, including talks about the history of the Cole Museum’s collections and looking at some of our more famous specimens!

We will be hosting some fascinating talks and activities, and there will be arts and crafts and other fun events! And of course, our pop-up gift shop will also be open!

All activities and talks are completely free, so just drop in!

In Health and Life Sciences building, seminar room G03 next to the museum, drop-in at:

Activities in the museum

  • Comparative anatomy class: come and take a closer look at some of our specimens and explore animal adaptations.
  • Live insects: we will have some live insects to see and chat to our team about.

Arts and Crafts

Some Natural History themed crafts, a colouring station and temporary tattoos!

Gift Shop

Take home a memento from your day exploring All Things Natural History at the Cole Museum of Zoology!
