In this exhibition, postgraduate (MA Fine Art) students from Reading School of Art explore the theme of ‘voices’ in response to our collections. Whose voices are present in this museum? Whose are missing? Can art be used to give voice to those who have been side-lined or struggle to be heard?

Inspired by the Museum and its collection, the students have produced artworks across a range of media, including sculpture, textile, film, photography and installation. As international students from China, India, Ireland and Taiwan, their artworks explore personal histories and rural connections across the globe. In doing so, they shape and enrich our understanding of the English countryside.

The artists featured in this exhibition are Mandy Chen, Anson Li, Priya Mishra, Marian O’Donnell, and Fangzhou Yu.
