The 1980s and 1990s were decades of exploration and experimentation for Ladybird Books. New series, products and formats were all introduced, as older styles fell out of fashion.

For some this change marked the end of a “Golden Age”. However, for new readers, it was an exciting world of Ladybird Books filled with cartoons, superheroes, and robots. These books remain an important part of many people’s childhood memories.

Showcased in the Ladybird Gallery, this exhibition dives into this new era of Ladybird Books.
